People have been asking me for a while: "I love the plumbing course, but what about everything else a house throws at you?" Landlords, in particular. And the ones dreaming of going self-employed but worried that plumbing alone won't keep the van busy.
I've listened. Today I'm announcing something I've been building for months: the 10-Day Property Maintenance Course. Ten days, six trades, £1,500 — and no experience needed.
It starts with three full days of plumbing — the same material as our 3-Day Complete Plumbing Course: soldering and copper pipework, compression and push-fit, taps, toilets, sinks, radiators, leaks and fixes. Then we widen out:
Day nine is assessment day, and it works the way I think training should work: paying for the course does not guarantee you pass. The question I ask of every piece of work is simple — would I accept this work in my own home? Safe, functional, reliable, neat, compliant, and something you'd be proud to charge a customer for. If it's not there yet, you come back for additional training and reassessment (£250 a day) and we work on exactly what needs work.
You won't get a certificate unless you're ready. That's not harshness — that's the whole point. A qualification nobody trusts isn't worth the paper.
